Maybe the Nationals won't be losing Ryan Zimmerman again after all.

Earlier in the weekend, manager Davey Johnson said the Nationals might have to give the third baseman

another cortisone shot for his inflamed right shoulder and possibly a spot on the disabled list once more.

But Sunday, Zimmerman said that might not take place. The third baseman got a cortisone shot before the

2-1 loss in Baltimore and answered with two hits.

Zimmerman said he's just going to keep playing and get cortisone shots when needed -- if needed --

during the rest of 2012.

That will keep him off the disabled list and in Johnson's lineup, something that could make everyone

with the Nationals happy.

Zimmerman drove in the only run in Sunday's loss, ripping a fastball from Jake Arrieta for an RBI

single.

The question now is how Zimmerman's shoulder reacts to everything. Offseason surgery could also be in

the future, but that won't be known until after the season ends.

For now, though, Zimmerman is hoping the cortisone takes care of the shoulder.
