Check out this cool feature at Sully Baseball. The blogger creates two separate all-time Mariner teams. First he creates a team of "home-grown" Mariners, players that came up through the Mariner organization. He also creates a team of "acquired" Mariners, players that the Mariners got via free agency or trades.
With these teams head to head, I would have to say the "home-grown" Mariners would win. Having Ken Griffey Jr. and Edgar Martinez give too much of an edge. Although, the "acquired" Mariners do have a solid pitching staff with the likes of Randy Johnson, Jamie Moyer, and Freddy Garcia.
