With their playoff fate having been decided, the Los Angeles Angels decided to pull Jered Weaver and Ervin Santana from their respective starts in the season's final two games.
A pair of rookies will take their places. Tyler Chatwood will toe the rubber on Tuesday and Garrett Richards will go Wednesday.
The Angels were eliminated from the wild-card race with Monday's 4-3 loss to Texas.
Weaver went 18-8 with a 2.41 ERA while Santana went 11-12 with a 3.38 ERA. Both players set career highs in innings pitched.
