Each time I saw Argenis Reyes playing, whether it was as a starter or pinch hitting, I was torn between two thoughts.As Matt at Metsblog has pointed out, each time Jerry says "right now this is how we are built" it's a shot at Omar for not doing something. I also think that using Reyes has been a statement to Omar, especially in the positions he has used him, as the lead off hitter and with bases loaded as a pinch hitter. If Jerry gets fired at the end of the season, it will be due to conflicts with Omar, specifically not towing the company line and not what happens on the field. But my second thought, has been that this is all Manuel has to work with on the bench. At times, to give guys rest or because of pitching match-ups, Manuel has had to use the .098 hitting Reyes. Metsblog reported last night that Reyes had been sent down to make room for tonight's starter, Oliver Perez...
