Well we know that Jamey Carroll has moved on to be the starting shortstop for the Twins in 2012. Rod Barajas has moved on as well, as he signed to be the starting battery-mate for the Pirates. Looks like next in line for the mass exodus of Chavez Ravine is non other than the once dominant closer Jonathan Broxton. ESPN's Jerry Crasnick was tweeting earlier this afternoon that Broxton is close to signing, and according to Dylan Hernandez, the Dodgers are not bringing him back. Broxton will likely take a heavily incentive laden one-year deal with one of the 12 or so interested teams in the coming days.

The Dodger signed 27 year old shorstop Luis Cruz to a minor league deal says Matt Eddy of Baseball America. Not sure if a spring invite was included on this deal or not. Cruz has been with the Brewers, Pirates, and Rangers. In three seasons (2008-2010) Cruz managed to get 169 major league plate appearances. In 2011 he spent the entire season with the Rangers AAA affiliate.

The once promising Dodgers outfield prospect, Xavier Paul has been released by the Pittsburgh Pirates, and has also cleared waivers according to Dylan Hernandez. Perhaps the Dodgers will give him another look?

Just wanted to quickly squash the Joe Torre rumors that are flying around. The NY Times posted something a few days ago saying several groups have approached the Dodgers former manager about getting involved with the purchase of the Los Angeles Dodgers. It's a longshot of the longest kind, and here is what Torre had to say,

“I’m not part of any group,” Torre said in a recent phone interview. “But I’ll tell you there’ve been a number of people who’ve reached out and inquired, but I’ve made no alliance, no commitment, as of this minute.
