The Binghamton Mets officially punched their ticket into the postseason with a 5-4 win over the New Britain Rock Cats on Saturday night at NYSEG Stadium. They packed all of their offense into a five-run sixth as Binghamton became playoff bound for the first time since 2004.
The team was forced to win in comeback fashion, as the Rock Cats took an early lead against Mark Cohoon. Miguel Sano led off the second inning with a long solo blast into the railyard in left field for the first run of the game. After a walk and a double, Danny Santana blooped a two-run single later in the inning to give New Britain a 3-0 cushion. In the top of the fifth, Santana drove in another run with an RBI double into the left-centerfield gap.
