After yesterday’s 5-plus hour craziness, it was perhaps a little easy to anticipate that something like this would happen. There’s not too much to say about the game today: the Jays bats were completely listless, and were thoroughly dominated by Angels’ ace Jered Weaver in a 3-1 loss. Whether they were tired from yesterday, or was frustrated by the blown call by Bob Davidson, there really isn’t very much excuse for this kind of lackluster showing that was perhaps the antithesis of the “Hustle & Heart” we’ve gotten used to seeing from this ball club. Yesterday, the Jays offense had a ton of chances to get ahead, but was unable to capitalize on chances. Today, however, they just couldn’t hit much of anything at all. Jered Weaver had his way with the Toronto lineup, setting a career high in strikeouts with 15 en route to the victory.
