Toronto Blue Jays new pitching arrivals, Josh Johnson and Mark Buehrle, have both been making very positive noises after linking up with their new teammates in spring training. The duo arrived in Toronto from the Miami Marlins at the end of last season in a 12 player trade between the two teams, with Johnson and Buehrle falling out with the Florida franchise over apparent reneged promises. Johnson sat atop the 2012 starting rotation of the Marlins, in a team that was jam-packed with talent but seemingly burdened by the huge expectations placed on them. Miami’s loss is Toronto’s gain, though, and the appearance of Johnson and Buehrle at the Jays has instantly turned Toronto into real post-season contenders this year. The arrival of top class right-hander and left-hander pitchers has added some talented options to the rotation, and the Jays have already been tipped by fans betting MLB World Series to have a big year in 2013. “I’m extremely excited; I can’t put it into words,” Johnson said to the MLB betting news. He will be looking to start the season as the Jays’ main man. Left-hander, Buehrle was quick to avoid making any bold predictions about what this team could achieve this year, “Obviously, you can put expectations there […] we have a good team on paper, but you can’t crown a team in spring training or because it looks good on paper.” The Los Angeles Dodgers proved last season that it takes more than just having a star-studded line-up to bring a team success. This Toronto team look to have a bit more about it than that Dodgers side in terms of character, though, and the Jays’ fans will go into the new season with some real confidence about bringing the good times back to the franchise. addthis_url = 'http%3A%2F%2Fcuzoogle.com%2F2013%2F02%2F14%2Fblue-jays-new-boys-ready-for-successful-season%2F'; addthis_title = 'Blue+Jays%26%238217%3B+New+boys+Ready+for+Successful+Season'; addthis_pub = '';
