Brandon Allen may not be the answer for the Oakland A’s empty spot at first but he is sure a much better solution than Conor Jackson. Jackson’s game is not going to get any better than it is, Allen on the other hand can only get better.
I enjoyed watching Brandon Allen play yesterday against the Rangers and this is coming from a guy, who was not happy with the Brad Ziegler trade. His 3 for 4 day with a double and an rbi was a solid second outing.
Allen had been a bit of a disappointment for the Arizona Diamondbacks in his three big league efforts. He showed quality power but lacked the ability to just hit for a decent average. He was highly thought of coming out triple A, where he just destroyed pitching. For some reason his bat has not caught up to major league pitching.
