When the Mets are ready to move on from Krod, the next closer might not come as a hired guy on an expensive multi-year deal. The next closer maybe home grown reliever Brant Rustich. Rustich was a second round pick in 2007 and Sickel's ranked him the Mets #8 prospect in 2008. The young reliever has struggled with injuries and slipped off the prospect list, not being ranked on any of the top prospect lists. Adam Rubin reported today about Rustich journey back to health, and believes that he may join the team at some point during the season.Joe DeMayo of PSL to Flushing says Rustich has closers stuff...
