  According to the Seattle Times' Geoff Baker, the Seattle Mariners nixed what could have been one of the biggest blockbusters in a long time. Reports came out after the trade deadline that the Mariners had received calls about Cy Young candidate Felix Hernandez. The Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, and Tampa Rays were three of the reported six teams. Seattle Mariners GM Jack Zduriencik said afterwards that he received calls from those three teams but said "nothing was close to realistic." So looking at that quote you would think that maybe the Red Sox offered Buchholz and three or four top prospects for Felix and that it would take a lot more to realistically get King Felix. Well, as Baker has reported today there was a three team trade in place involving the San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, and Seattle Mariners.
