Found August 06, 2013 on Fox Sports:
The Philadelphia Phillies activated all-star left fielder Domonic Brown from the disabled list on Tuesday. Brown has not played since July 23 because of concussion symptoms. To make room for Brown on the roster, the Phillies designated outfielder Laynce Nix for assignment. The 25-year-old played in a rehabilitation game Monday with Single-A Lakewood and went 3-for-5 with a home run. Brown still leads Philadelphia in several offensive categories, including home runs (24), RBIs (69), runs (51) and slugging percentage (.531) despite an 11-game absence. The Phillies went 1-10 during Brown's stint on the DL.

Them Cheatin’ Phillies

As you all know, Phillies left-handed reliever Antonio Bastardo accepted a 50-game suspension today for his involvement with Biogenesis, a sports nutrition firm now known for producing and selling banned substances to Major League Baseball players. The series of suspensions are unprecedented: players were confronted with overwhelming evidence and accepted suspensions instead of being...

Dan Meyer Calls Out Former Teammate Antonio Bastardo For Using PEDs

Oh what could have been. Dan Meyer, like many former and current baseball players, took to Twitter to voice his opinions and frustrations regarding the suspensions stemming from the Biogenesis PED scandal. While many players went for the somber and cynical approach, Meyer decided to take this time of reflection and penance to get in bitter jab at one former teammate. Antonio Bastardo...

Todd Pratt also battling cancer

The Philadelphia Phillies just held their Alumni Weekend and much of it was spent talking about Darren Daulton and his battle with cancer. We also found out this weekend he’s not the only member of the 1993 Phillies suffering from cancer. Todd Pratt told CSN Philly that he’s been battling cancer himself for about a year now. Chase Utley steamrolls Dioner Navarro at home

In the seventh inning of a tie game last night, the Phillies third base coach waved around Chase Utley to try and score on a base hit to right field. Cubs right fielder Cole Gillespie gathered the line drive on a couple bounces and fired to home plate, one-hopping it to Chicago catcher Dioner Navarro, who was attempting to block the plate. Right as the throw reached Navarro, Utley...

Hamels and Wood Duel, Utley extended, Bullpen Blows It

Cole Hamels had another strong outing wasted by little run support. Still it continues a nice streak of good outings. Hamels threw 82 pitches over 7 innings, allowing just 2 runs and probably could have gone further had the situation demanded a pinch hitter. Chase Utley, celebrating his reported extension,...

Phillies, Utley nearing extension

The Philadelphia Phillies declined to trade second baseman Chase Utley in July preferring to negotiate an extension with him and make him in the words of general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. a “Phillie for life.” Mission nearly accomplished. Rank Relief: Two bad teams are still bad

Justin De Fratus can’t even look at the moonshot he just gave up. The Cubs and the Phillies are both bad teams.  One was smart and sold excess assets at the trade deadline for a pile of young players and/or $ relief.  The other one kept all the pieces that could have helped them start to rebuild.  Maybe they are happy finishing 4th for a few more years.  The smart team did...
