MLB Injury News:
The Washington Nationals have been without Jayson Werth for
the past week-plus, and outfielder Bryce Harper was also out of the lineup last
night after undergoing a procedure to remove an ingrown toenail, according to
Mark Zuckerman of CSN Washington.
The ingrown toenail had been bothering Harper for the past
few days, but it reportedly reached its worst point on Thursday night. At that
time, Harper and the Nationals decided to move forward with a procedure that is
used to alleviate the issue.
General manager Mike Rizzo considers Harper day-to-day,
while skipper Davey Johnson said the slugger’s pain was obvious.
"He was in a lot of pain last night, and he's gimpy
today," Johnson said. "So I'll probably have to stay off him."
Washington is hoping to have Harper back in the lineup this
afternoon as they continue their series against the Detroit Tigers. In his absence
– and with Werth heading to the disabled list – the Nationals used Roger
Bernadina and Tyler Moore in the outfield last night.

These young kids need to take better care of themselves. For as much of a young baseball stud that Bryce Harper is, kid could use a few lessons in hygiene. The Washington Nationals didn’t need him, as they defeated...
Washington Nationals phenom Bryce Harper may be young but that doesn’t mean he has the right to conduct himself in irresponsible, potentially dangerous, ways.
