Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Chad Billingsley is headed to see a doctor after his bullpen session on Wednesday was cut short. The 29-year-old Billingsley underwent Tommy John surgery in April of 2013 and had been hopeful to join the Dodgers rotation soon. Instead his latest bullpen session was cut short and his elbow will be examined by Dr. Neal ElAtrache. Mattingly said the Chad Billingsley had a setback throwing his pen. Will see Dr. ElAtrache again. — Alanna Rizzo (@alannarizzo) June 11, 2014 Billingsley has not played a full season since 2011. The Dodgers had scheduled him to pitch on Saturday in a minor league game, those plans are not on hold. The Dodgers’ current rotation is Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke, Hyun-jin Ryu, Dan Haren and Josh Beckett.

Dodgers' bullpen is a problem that needs to be addressed

The Dodger bullpen is a problem. That's not a secret, and it doesn't take a ton of analysis to figure out.The Dodgers' starting rotation has a 3.26 ERA, fourth-best in baseball. The Dodgers' relief pitchers have a 3.74 ERA, 18th-best in baseball. You could get into fancier stats -- perhaps more appropriate to the question, or that would help break it down as to why...

Photo: Yasiel Puig conquers his greatest fear at Cincinnati Zoo

Yasiel Puig and the Dodgers are making their lone visit to Cincinnati this week and what better way to spend their free time than by checking out the Cincinnati Zoo (besides eating a Frisch's Big Boy of course). On Wednesday, Puig was among a handful of Dodgers players to go exploring in the Queen City land of exotic animals. And judging by this photo posted to the Cincinnati...

Banned Dodgers fan faces felony charge after being arrested at Reds game

A crazed fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers was put in jail Tuesday night and could face up to three years behind bars if convicted of the felony he has been charged with. The man in question was charged with criminal trespass and obstructing officials business, both of which are misdemeanors, as well as burglary, which is a felony. Zack Cosart Hit In Head By Josh Beckett Pitch, Stays In Game (Video)

Josh Beckett has been really, really good lately, but his temporary lapse in control Tuesday night led to a scary situation in Cincinnati. The Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander mowed down the Cincinnati Reds with a six-inning performance in which he allowed just two hits. However, it was one pitch that got away from him that led to a seemingly awful scene. An 84 mph offering from...

Yasiel Puig and Dale Jr. trade autographs during rain delay

Dale Earnhardt Jr. visited Great American Ball Park before Thursday's Reds-Dodgers game for Reds Racing Night. First pitch was delayed due to rain, but that didn't stop Dale Jr. from having a good time. During the delay, Earnhardt hung out with fans and visited both teams' clubhouses, where he met one of the most interesting men in baseball -- Yasiel Puig. The unlikely...

Reds 4, Dodgers 1: A Whole Lot of Fail

Zack Greinke‘s first three hitters today: – Skip Schumaker single – Todd Frazier homer – Joey Votto double Zack Greinke‘s next 19 hitters: one hit, one walk. Taken as a whole, it was a perfectly fine day for Greinke, who overcame his tough start to mow through the Reds offense. Unfortunately, baseball is a team game, and when the rest of your team is getting completely...

Reds 5, Dodgers 0: Tip Your Cap To Johnny Cueto

Yeah, that’s about how I felt watching this game, too. I don’t know. Not a whole lot to say about this one. Yes, Yasiel Puig and Matt Kemp each had some issues with the home plate umpire — Kemp’s argument on this called strike three, which wasn’t a good call but which was probably too close to take, got him tossed in the second inning — didn’t help, but it also didn’t...

Daily SP Rankings: Friday, Jun 13

Clayton Kershaw takes the mound on Friday and towers over the field. Arizona has been a tough out in recent weeks, posting a .355 wOBA in June, the 3rd-best in baseball. However prior to Arizona’s 4-1 defeat at Houston on Wednesday, the Diamondbacks had played 15 straight games either at Chase Field or Coors Field. Those are two of the best hitter’s parks in baseball. Let...

For the Dodgers, three consecutive wins is news

As statistics go, this one is pretty telling. Also, pretty ridiculous. The major league teams without a winning streak of longer than three games this season: the Dodgers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Minnesota Twins, New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies. Which one of these teams does not belong? That group includes the last-place team in the National League West, the last place team...
