As expected, the Yankees have put relief pitcher Chan Ho Park on the 15-day disabled list after he pulled his right hamstring warming up in the bullpen yesterday. To take his place on the roster is left handed pitcher Boone Logan.
Park has already begun to establish himself as an important member of the Yankees bullpen this season. Although a bout of diarrhea caused him to struggle in his first appearance, Park has had two strong appearances since then going five innings and only allowing one run. Overall he has a 4.76 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP.
The injury isn’t expected to be serious, but Park is 36-years-old and the Yankees are being cautious. An MRI revealed a low-level strain on the same hamstring, although in a different spot, that he injured last year. He should be able to come off the DL as soon as the 15-days are up.
