The big news out of CBP this afternoon was that the Phillies were having a closed door meeting. Uncle Cholly sees that the NL East is just sitting there for the taking. Maybe J-Roll and the boys need some prescription sunglasses because Charlie seemingly wanted to remind them it's within sight. Just reach out and hit some friggin home runs this week and put this thing to bed.

CSN's John Finger has the details on what Chuck had to say behind those doors.

“The mountain didn’t come to Muhammad, did it?” Manuel said, noting that he did all of the talking in the meeting.

“I used to say that in the minor leagues, when I’d tell somebody on the team, ‘Go to the mountain, son,’ that means hit a home run or do something real good,” he said. “That means you do something special. The mountain don’t come to you. You got to go to the mountain. If you hit a home run, that’s going to the mountain. In order to hit a home run, you’ve got to do it. You’ve got to go get it.”

Charlie is a wise man but I didn't take him for the type to be using Islamic history to get his team motivated.

In other positive news, that speedy little bugger Michael Bourn will not be in the starting line up for those stinkin' Astros tonight. Why can't the Phillies play better against the Astros?!?

J.A. Happ will go up against Wilton Lopez who is making his first ever Major League start which likely means he'll dominate the Phillies puttering offense. That or they'll put up double digits.

The Phillies official Twitter had said Carlos Ruiz would be back in the line up but later took that back and noted that Paul Bako will get a chance to put some wood on the ball.

I'm with Charlie, let's put this thing to bed sooner than later. I'll be in the Diamond Club if you need me.
