Alex Cintron is a 31 y/o switch hitter who plays SS/2B with a little 3B and 1B thrown in. He is a lifetime .275 hitter with a .313 OBP.The Mets have signed him to a minor league deal where he'll more then likely serve as a back-up plan in Buffalo just in case Jose's leg doesn't hold up. If in Buffalo, Cintron will be along side his former teammate Andy Green; at one point in the Arizona system under Melvin, Hale and Backman with Sandy Johnson up-stairs Cintron was the SS and Green the 2B.I advocated for him to be signed last off-season before the Mets brought in Alex Cora.Second baseman Alex Cintron recently signed with the Mets on a minor-league deal, Baseball America reported. Cintron, 31, had two hits in 26 at-bats with the Nationals last season.
