Found April 30, 2012 on Fox Sports West:
LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers Monday reinstated right-handed pitcher Todd Coffey from the 15-day disabled list. Coffey had been on the disabled list with right knee inflammation since April 14. The 31-year-old right-handed reliever has appeared in three games for the Dodgers this season, giving up four runs in 1.0 inning. Coffey pitched for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga in a two-game rehabilitation stint on Wednesday and Friday, allowing one run and three hits in 2.0 innings for the Quakes. The North Carolina native was signed as a free agent in February after going 5-1 with a 3.62 ERA in 69 games for the Washington Nationals last season. Following the game yesterday, the Dodgers optioned right-handed pitcher Nathan Eovaldi to Double-A Chattanooga. Eovaldi was on the active roster for three days and did not appear in a contest.

Andre Ethier and a contract extension with new Dodgers' ownership

Andre Ethier: $15 million man? On this glorious day when the sale of the Dodgers is official, there is scuttlebutt the ownership is looking to hash out a contract extension with Andre Ethier. Bill Shaikin, L.A. Times: "Colletti met w Ethier's agent Fri at Dodger Stadium. No deal imminent, but that could be first order of business for new #Dodgers owners."...

The Dodgers' third-best hitter, A.J. Ellis, bats eighth

A.J. Ellis While Jon Weisman at Dodger Thoughts is (rightfully) starting the "A.J. Ellis All-Star campaign," I'm thinking we need to start a "Move A.J. Ellis up in the order campaign," though, it doesn't have quite the same ring to it. But with Dee Gordon's unsurprising early-season struggles, perhaps it's time to shake up the lineup...

A Topps Opening Day Autograph Is One Of My Rarer Matt Kemp Cards.

Ah, Opening Day, that most glorious of baseball days and most inconsequential of baseball sets. I'm not a big set collector, and I enjoy pulling hits of all kinds, so I have less than zero interest in ever buying the product for myself. However, for less than the price of a blaster (and purchased with Card Draft funds, no less), I couldn't possibly let the below beauty go...

Bruce Harper gets mooned during first MLB hit.

A Dodgers fan put the ass in class Saturday night, mooning Bryce Harper during his first big league hit in the 7th inning (video: a rocket double). Harper did not get mooned while collecting his first Major League RBI in the 9th. Dodgers 4, Nationals 3: Bryce Harper's Hollywood beginning has a bad ending written by Matt Kemp. Strasburg's great night goes up in smoke...

Dodgers Fans Mooned Bryce Harper As He Got His First Major League Hit

Bryce Harper, the Washington Nationals rookie, got his first hit of his Major League Baseball career off of a Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher for a double. Some Dodgers fans decided to moon, not only their pitcher, but also Bryce Harper. Yeah, it doesn’t make sense to moon your own pitcher but the kids look pretty young. This may be the best rookie troll move of all time. We enhanced...

Magic Johnson Gets First Dodgers Bobblehead… And Gets The Dodgers

Magic Johnson updated his Who Say page with a picture featuring him and his Dodgers bubblehead in matching caps.  The picture comes at a fairly good time as Magic Johnson and his ownership group took full control of the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday.  The 2 billion dollar deal was finalized, but we can’t tell if the bobblehead is the more impressive Tuesday victory. (Magic...

Dodgers begin anew with new owners

Although the Southern California sun stayed behind clouds, everything else about the Los Angeles Dodgers' introductory news conference for their new ownership group signaled the dawn of a bright new era for a beloved franchise. Magic Johnson, Mark Walter and Stan Kasten stood on a stage in center field at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday and vowed to restore the Dodgers' pride...

IT’S OVER!

Finally.  After all the pain, suffering and frustration caused by the McCourt Ownership Era, Dodger fans are finally free. When the official statement came over at 10:48 a.m., it was simple and to the point: The Los Angeles Dodgers, Guggenheim Baseball Management LLC (“GBM”) and Frank McCourt today announced the completion of the sale of the Dodgers to GBM for $2 billion. As...

Bryce Harper’s Major League Debut was Memorable

[Box Score] [WaPo] [Big League Stew] [DC Sports Blog] [Dodgers Now] I’m happy with what I saw of Bryce Harper’s big league debut. The only at-bat I missed last night was his first MLB hit, a rocket double off the base of the wall that would have been out of most parks. But I saw all I needed to see. The hustle, the look, the grey bat. The incredible bat speed. The rifleman throw...

Dodgers sale closes; McCourt era ends

Frank McCourt surrendered ownership of the Dodgers on Tuesday, closing a turbulent chapter in the history of one of baseballs most historic franchises. The new owners wired the final payment on the record 2.15-billion purchase price on Tuesday, closing the transaction that ended the McCourt era and ushering in Guggenheim Baseball as the Dodgers third owner since the OMalley family...

Awesome Contest Winnings From All About Cards, Because TCSP Is Lame.

A tale of intrigue and excitement and Polish trickery awaits. Let's get right to it, shall we? A while back, I entered a contest over at All About Cards. Participants were tasked with guessing the team and decade of debut of the player whose cut auto would be pulled out of a TCSP product. I went with Dodgers and 1940s, because vintage Brooklyn Dodgers is fantastic in any form...

Adiós Frank McCourt

The end of the Frank McCourt era has come and the new reign of Magic Johnson, Steve Kasten and the rest of the Guggenheim Baseball Management group begins. The sale of the Dodgers became official today instead of yesterday with $2 billion changing hands. The delay was a result of excessive paperwork that still needed to be reviewed. Frank McCourt purchased the Dodgers in January...
