The Philadelphia Phillies continue to put on the good face that things will eventually turn around and everything will be all right. However, the eerie silence in the clubhouse spoke a completely different story Sunday. It told of a team that is finding new and different ways to lose games each day and is already slipping into the abyss in the National League East race. A 5-4 loss to the Baltimore Orioles in 10 innings at Camden Yards on Sunday afternoon saw the Phillies drop eight games behind the division-leading Nationals and a whopping 10 games back in the loss column. "You look at it on a daily basis," right fielder Hunter Pence said. "You just go out there. There's a lot of things that lead to that. There's opportunities to win the games earlier. The Phillies As Sellers

The Philadelphia Phillies aren’t accustomed to hovering around the .500 mark, let alone falling on the wrong side of it. Winners of five straight division titles, the team and its core members are used to playing solid baseball and firming up grasps on playoff berths. Throughout this recent run of success, the front office has used the trade deadline to bolster the roster, fix...

Everything seems to be going against shell-shocked Phillies

Shortstop Jimmy Rollins knows a good baseball season when he sees one. He knows a bad one, too. Sometimes, it takes a trained eye sometimes to know the difference. So there was Rollins on Saturday in Baltimore, shaking his head at the elements of a 6-4 extra-innings loss that would precede a 5-4 extra-innings defeat Sunday. In it, the Phillies hit line drives ... right into gloves...

Pitchers With More Than 10 Starts And No Wins

Philadelphia Phillies’ LHP Cliff Lee is a pretty darn good pitcher. His reputation and production speaks for itself. However, 2012 has been a pretty unlucky year for Lee. Lee’s peripherals have been pretty much on point. He has 74 K’s in 70.2 innings, a 52.3 percent Ground Ball Percenage, and a 2.65 xFIP. When it comes to wins however, Lee has had no luck at all. Lee pitched...
