The answer to that question is yes. The reason is not because Andy LaRoche is good enough to be any everyday starter at third. The reason is because Kevin Kouzmanoff has been terrible. Don’t get me wrong LaRoche might be good enough to start at third but not on a team competing for the West. Oakland severely needs help offensively. Third base is a spot where the A’s could go out and make a trade to get some offensive help. Until that trade is made the A’s should start LaRoche. To his credit Andy LaRoche is having a good season. Good season for being an A’s third baseman, not a good season as far as being a baseball player. He is batting .294 for the A’s at the moment but he isn’t driving in runs or getting on base much when he does play. He is just out playing Kevin Kouzmanoff. So until Billy Beane gets a trade done or Kouz starts to perform when given at bats here and there Andy LaRoche needs to be the Oakland A’s starting third baseman. ...
