Adam Rubin of ESPN New York says that the Mets still need to clear two spots from their full 40-man roster to make room for recent signings Scott Hairston and Ronny Cedeno who both signed major league deals that have yet to be officially announced.
Rubin lists the players in order of vulnerability of who the Mets may cut:
RHP Armando RodriguezRHP D.J. CarrascoRHP Jeremy HefnerOF Fernando MartinezLHP Daniel HerreraRHP Chris SchwindenIF Josh SatinIF Justin Turner
Sooner or later the Mets are going to have to make a decision on Fernando Martinez the excuse that he’s still young doesn’t sound as good in 2012 as it did in 2010.
I know Carrasco signed a two-year deal last offseason, but I agree with Rubin and could foresee the Mets cutting him.
