Diamondbacks reliever J.J. Putz threw quite possibly the worst "pitch" in the history of baseball Saturday night against the Mets, and the fact that the ball went directly downward (before rolling about 15 feet) wasn't even the strangest part.
As Putz started his motion to throw his first pitch to the Mets' Justin Turner with one out and nobody on, the Chase Field audio people apparently hit a button that was not supposed to be hit at that particular moment. The result:

In case you're wondering, that's neither a cow sound effect nor a "close encounter of the third kind"; it's the opening to Motley Crue's "Kickstart My Heart." And based on Putz's reaction, it certainly did something to his heart.
