The Padres finally made an offseason splash in the announcement of changes to the outfield fences. It has been a topic of debate since Petco's first season, and it has finally come to pass in the form of moving the fences closer to home plate. Most people are saying "finally" while others are questioning the decision. As we all know, Petco has played as a pitchers park, and this move is a way to make the ballpark play more "fair" in the eyes of baseball experts. While the dimension changes will be a difference next year, the biggest difference will be the visitors bullpen is being moved to behind the home bullpen. This can be seen all over MLB and it is now coming to San Diego. I'm looking forward to seeing the changes, and it may be just the move that was needed to get a top hitter to come to San Diego.
