I won’t try to take too much space up here as there is a lot to get to in the links below. As many of you saw yesterday with the picture that was posted on the Facebook page, the fences at Petco are coming along nicely. Like many of you I have only seen what they look like from pictures as I haven’t made my way down there to see how it is going along. Just to be clear though, the fences that you see now are temporary construction fences. The real fences will be back much farther than on the grass. I’m sure many of you will see it first hand when FanFest comes around next month, which the date has been announced today as well. I will have all that information below along with many good links: Submit articles and follow me on twitter Follow @M_Rennick Padres confident in options for starting rotation - Padres.com “San Diego general manager Josh Byrnes indicated Wednesday that the team won’t simply add another pitcher for the sake of doing so or even for the sake of adding depth to th...

Padres 100 to 1 to win the World Series

Vegas thinks the Padres have little chance of winning the World Series, currently the Padres odds are at 100-1.  It should come as no surprise that a team that finished in 4th place and has done nothing to improve during the first half of the off-season is still considered a long shot.  With 2013 in full swing we can look forward to the second half of the off-season and possibly...

Player Profile #193: Carlos Quentin | OF | SD

Carlos Quentin is actually a very consistent player. He almost always puts up the same numbers on a per-game basis, and he’s always due to miss some time. He’s certainly very flawed, but in 2009 and 2010 those flaws weren’t major enough to keep him from earning a spot on fantasy rosters across the net — he ranked inside the top 210 in both seasons. Unless you think Chase...

Daily Friar 1.2.13

I hope that you all had a wonderful New Year’s Day doing whatever your heart desired. I know for a lot of people it is back to reality today; back to work, back to whatever life brings for you. Someone should tell the Padres front office to get back to work, am I right? Anyways, it has been slow as we all know and it seems that everybody the Padres show interest in gets swiped...

With yesterday’s announcement of FanFest being in just over a month, the smell of baseball is becoming ever stronger. For those that haven’t been to FanFest, or FriarFest as they used to call it, I highly recommend going out. It is a lot of fun in that you get the opportunity to meet a bunch of players, get to go on the field and walk around, listen in on Q&A sessions, and...
