Friarhood:

I guess things come around full circle every once in a while. We all know how awful the season started, then how great we were playing in the middle of the season, and now things have gone bad once again. The Padres have dropped another series, this time against the Dodgers. The sad part is they are not losing close games they are getting blown out. Yes we have young pitchers who need exposure, but if we are supposed to contend next year things will have to change before next April. The offense has done okay, except for the past few games. Against the Dodgers the Padres scored 8 runs to the Dodgers 17. That will need to change, but that is what next season is for. And as an avid Padre fan for all 23 years of my life I have gotten used to looking forward to "next year." Here are your Padres links for today:

"Maybin has the perfect combination of speed and agility to man the spacious Outfield in Petco Park. If Maybin he can just find a way to hit with some consistency over the course of an entire year, the Padres would be in great shape not only in the field, but in their batting order as well."

Annie’s Boobs Threw Out The First Pitch At A Padres Game
In a story that is extremely relevant to my interests, the first pitch at Thursday’s San Diego Padres/Los Angeles Dodgers game at PETCO Park was thrown out by Crystal, aka “that one monkey from everything,” aka Annie’s Boobs from ‘Community’. You may remember Crystal from such roles as Dexter in the Night At The Museum franchise, Donald The Monkey in Paul Blart: Zookeeper...

Daily Friar 9.29.12
It must be getting close to the end of the season because the news is hard to come by with the Padres of late. The MLB world only cares about winning teams, and since the Padres are not winning right now there is no news here apparently. Of course I have come to expect this come the offseason, but not with a week left to play. I thought we would still have some stuff to talk about...
Daily Friar 9.27.12
If you're going to lose a game you might as well lose big right? Day games usually go in the favor of the Padres, just look at how well we normally do on Sundays. But yesterday the Dodgers got the better of Clayton Richard for once. Normally it's the other way around, Richard usually does pretty well against the hated team from the north. And trust me I really hate this team...
Padres 7, Giants 3
Chase Headley hit his 30th home run and had three RBIs to tie Ryan Braun for the NL lead with 112 and the San Diego Padres beat Buster Posey and the NL West champion San Francisco Giants 7-3 on Saturday night.
Posey, who started at catcher a night after being hit in the throat with a wild pitch, went 2 for 2 with a to raise his average to .337 and increase his lead in the NL batting...
Video: Cameron Maybin leaps high over the wall to rob homer
Saturday brought us yet another candidate for catch of the year as San Diego Padres outfielder Cameron Maybin hauled in a beauty. The play occurred in the very first inning of the Padres home game against the San Francisco Giants. With two outs, Giants outfielder Xavier Nady crushes a drive high and deep toward the center-field wall. That's when Maybin rises up and robs Nady...
