Mets 'not happy' with R.A. Dickey
The Mets are trying to figure out how the reigning NL Cy Young winner fits into their future plans, but the team is reportedly a little miffed with the knuckleballer's actions of late.
Reviewing Mets trade targets: Mike Olt, Travis D’Arnaud and Xander Bogaerts
I think most Met fans are tired of the saga of R.A. Dickey. I know that I am. I fully agree with the reports that once Hamilton signs (hopefully with Texas) the Mets and their potential dance partners will have a better idea of the scope of the dance floor. (Trade Floor) The most likely suitors appear to be the Rangers and Dickey would be in some ways coming home to the team...

Infuriating Alderson Dumps On Mets Fans
The words seared into my consciousness.
I previously defended Sandy Alderson, thinking as a hired gun his job was to pare payroll and ease the Mets’ financial strain, which he did.
However, there is no defending what he said yesterday at the Mets’ Annual Christmas party, one where they asked R.A. Dickey to dress as an elf.
I usually applaud honesty, but this time it would have...
R.A. Dickey is upset with the slow pace of contract negotiations
This afternoon at the New York Mets holiday party in Citi Field, R.A. Dickey told reporters he would test free agency after the 2013 season, if he does not sign a contract extension with the club this off-season. Which R.A. said would most likely mean he will not be back in 2014.
“If that’s the decision they feel like is best for the club, and that’s the decision that they...
Hairston Tells ESPN That Mets Are Still In The Mix
According to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York, free agent Scott Hairston says the Mets remain in the mix, but a multiyear contract will be required to return to Queens.
“Things are starting to pick up now that the market is settling in,” Hairston told ESPNNewYork.com. “Still unsure where I’ll sign, though. There are a lot of trades happening around the league, so it’s possible...
A New York minute is no way for the Mets to do business
A “New York minute” is a phrase to describe an increibly brief moment of time. Or as Johnny Carson once explained, it’s the interval between a Manhattan traffic light turning green and the guy behind you honking his horn. Right now, Mets fans are wondering why Sandy Alderson doesn’t fix all of the team’s problems in a New York minute.
Of course, Alderson brought some...
Rumor Mill: Mets up offer to Dickey - Not Good Enough, Trade still being explored?
According to the New York Daily News, “team insiders continued to indicate an irreversible aversion” to matching Dickey’s desired deal, reportedly $31 million over three years, including the $5 million he’s slated to earn in 2013.
Meanwhile, the New York Post reported there’s “little chance” the knuckleballer would get a no-trade clause from Mets brass.
“Dickey...
Cy Young winner Dickey, Mets still negotiating
R.A. Dickey and Mets general manager Sandy Alderson can agree on one thing - they would prefer to have closure before opening day.
The Cy Young Award winner can become a free agent after the 2013 season and says he won't negotiate once it starts, so the Mets probably have to sign him to an extension or trade him to get the best return.
Dickey says it ''would be disappointing...
Can the Mets cash in on Dickey’s Cy Young season?
The drama has been played out in the public, it’s been the talk of sports radio,ESPN and print media and it is reaching the point of where do both parties go from here? The Mets are happy for everything that R.A. Dickey has done for them for the past 3 seasons. R.A. Dickey is happy that the Mets took a chance on him when no one else would.
Knuckleballers aren’t as sexy an attraction...
Mets Are Not Happy That Dickey Aired His Grievances
Mike Puma of the NY Post says that according to a team official, the Mets are “not happy” that Dickey used yesterday’s holiday party as a forum for an airing of grievances.
The Mets continue to explore trading Dickey, but haven’t made headway in convincing potential suitors such as the Rangers and Blue Jays to part with top prospects.
Also, a high-ranking club official brushed...
Giants bring back Andres Torres on 1-year/$2 million deal
Well the New York Mets are apparently continuing their offseason trend of ‘addition by subtraction’, as recently non-tendered free agent Andres Torres will be heading back to the San Francisco Giants for the 2013 season.

Mets and R.A. Dickey are fall apart on a new contract extension
The Mets and R.A. Dickey have remain far apart on a contract extension for the past month.
The Mets management wasn't thrilled with R.A. Dickey when he made comments about the team.
Saying they aren't treating him like a "Cy Young award winner" these days. Well, he is making a good point, but he is too old.
Personally, I don't mind seeing R.A. Dickey back...
