Your latest hot stove update to kick off your weekend.

We've already heard today the Dodgers have officially signed Yasiel Puig. We also heard the Dodgers rumored to be in discussion with the Padres about Chase Headley, and that Edwin Encarnacion could be had for the "right" pitcher. It's certainly been a busy day in Dodgertown, but it's never too late for some rumors.

Ken Rosenthal has some more for us, Rosenthal says the Dodgers have talked multiple times to the Cubs, Astros, and Brewers. They've also touched base with the Mariners, Twins, Royals, Blue Jays, and Padres.

So the Cubs hey? Well that's no surprise, with all the rumors of the Dodgers interested in Bryan LaHair, and one of the more aggressive pursuers of Ryan Dempster. Speaking of the Cubs, Jon Heyman says the Dodgers are the favorites to acquire Dempster once he returns from the disabled list, which should be shortly after the All-Star break. While on the subject of the Cubs, teams are viewing Alfonso Soriano as more of a DH, not an outfielder, according to Heyman. Perhaps the Dodgers are viewing him the same with an already limited Juan Rivera and Bobby Abreu. It's certainly hard to argue that offensive display he's putting on this season though.

So that's the Cubs. Safe to assume the Blue Jays talks are about Encarnacion? I hope so. Padres? Well that's a no-brainer, it's gotta be Chase Headley. The Astros? Well that's probably Carlos Lee and Wandy Rodriguez, but the whole team is available, so it's hard to rule anything out. What about the not so obvious, like the Mariners, Twins, and Royals? Let the rumors and tornado of speculation begin, I can already see the Felix Hernandez talk all over the internet. It is certainly worth pondering over, but nothing more at this point.

The Dodgers were also linked to Derrek Lee earlier today. I hope this ends quickly, he might be nice for the bench, but I don't really see him as the solution, but he could certainly be an upgrade over James Loney if he is healthy. Rosenthal says the Dodgers are "lukewarm" to the idea of Lee. Mainly because of the time he would need to get MLB ready, and let's face it he's no longer the force he once was. I'm thinking he could still be a nice bat for the bench though.
