MLB Injury News:
Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp continued his
recovery from a strained hamstring, aggressively completing running drills on
the warning track prior to yesterday’s game against the New York Yankees.
Manager Don Mattingly told Ken Gurnick of MLB.com that Kemp felt “great,”
adding that the center fielder will be pushed more today.
"Matt said he was great today, and we'll push him more
tomorrow," said manager Don Mattingly. "If that goes good, by the
time we leave San Diego [on Sunday], I'm hoping Matt can play in a rehab
setting at least three or four days."
Kemp could attempt to run the bases today, something he must
do before he’s cleared to go on his minor league rehab assignment. If all
continues to go well in the rehab process and Kemp joins a minor league
affiliate this weekend, he could be back in the Dodgers lineup by the end of the
Prior to hitting the DL, Kemp was off to a rough start to
the season. After posting OPSs of .900-plus in 2011 and ’12, Kemp began the
year hitting only .251/.305/.335 with 10 doubles and two home runs over 210

A.J. Ellis was activated from the disabled list after dealing with an oblique injury.
The Dodgers on Friday activated catcher A.J. Ellis from the disabled list, before the start of a three-game weekend series against the Pirates at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. To make room in the roster, the Dodgers designated Ramon Hernandez for assignment.
Good to have A.J. back, as the Dodgers could...
I'm snatching up Matt Kemp cardboard as best I can while he heals from his hamstring injury and continues to work his way back from the serious shoulder injury he suffered last season. I have not and never will forgive the Dodgers for allowing him to play through it, thus exacerbating it. Anyhoo, the latest deal I was able to secure is of the truly unique and one-of-a-kind variety...
The Los Angeles Dodgers season has not started how they way that they envisioned it. They were expected to compete in their division for a playoff spot. The injuries that they have suffered have put a wrench into those plans.
They are missing key players on their team like Matt Kemp and Carl Crawford, which has hindered their offense.
The pitching has been the strength for the team...
I completed my first trade with Judson from My Cardboard Habit. Judson contacted me about a hit he had that didn't fit into his collection. I was interested, and after a couple of e-mails this gorgeous Matt Kemp 2013 Gypsy Queen swatch became the newest addition to my Bison PC.Black-bordered cards just can't be beat. I also received five much needed cards from my 2012 Ginter...

Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Ronald Belisario had a rough time in the field during the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the New York Yankees when he committed two errors on one play, leading to a Yankees rally which allowed them to take control of the game.
Belisario came into the game in the bottom of the seventh...
The 2013 Dodgers' draft doesn't look nearly as impressive as the 2012 class, but there are few future contributors in this group.
The Dodgers seemingly changed their approach, opting for college players with nine of their first 10 picks -- a change from the norm. Logan White is known for drafting high schoolers and developing them.
Positional breakdown (round number...
I recently acquired a stunningly gorgeous card that jumps to the top of the mountain that is my Corey Seager Collection. I knew I had to lock down this beaut when it popped up on eBay and thankfully my winning bid was far less than what I anticipated the card selling for. Adding to my Seager Trifecta was also free as I had some focus group money left to play and pay with. This is...
Since Logan White took over as scouting director (now vice
president of amateur scouting and assistant general manager), the Dodgers have
been known for drafting high school players.
White’s first draft pick was James Loney in 2002, a high
school first baseman (who some viewed as a pitcher) from Texas.
While White’s crew has selected prep players in the first...
There has been a lot of rabble going into the All-Star Game next month about Dodgers rookie phenom Yasiel Puig potentially getting named to the team after just 15 games. Bruce Bochy of the Giants, manager of this year's NL squad, said he'd be hard-pressed to add Puig to the roster. And honestly, I can see both sides of the argument on this one.
Puig has been sensational...
Back in the 1980s, when the New York Yankees were in a championship drought, there was one player most fans were inevitably drawn to.
The gritty first baseman with the thick eye black. The guy who crouched low and then uncoiled that sweet, powerful swing from the left side of the plate.
During a rare down period for baseball's most successful franchise, Don...
The most exciting play in baseball, within context, is presumably the walk-off grand slam with two outs and a three-run deficit. Within context, I imagine it’s almost a perfect correlation between play excitement and Win Probability Added. This is why WPA works as both a baseball statistic and emotion statistic. Any immediate reversal of deficit to victory is going to be outstanding...
NEW YORK (AP) -- The game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees has been postponed by rain, delaying the renewal of their old October rivalry. The game was called Tuesday night about 30 minutes before the scheduled first pitch. It will be made up as part of a day-night doubleheader Wednesday, with start times of 1:05 p.m. and 7:05 p.m. A star player and fan...

The Los Angeles Dodgers are the Cerberus of the sports world. A three-headed monster with the wallet of a Steinbrenner, the media draw of LeBron James, and the propensity to fail of every talented-but-evil team in the final minutes of a sports movie. What could possibly go wrong?
Don’t ask fans in L...
When the Dodgers last won the World Series as New York City, a ticket to Game 4 could be had for $7.35, or less than the cost of a hot dog or a beer at the New Yankee Stadium. The last time the Dodgers visited the Bronx was for the 1981 world series, and the face price of the Old Yankee Stadium Loge seats was $20. Times have obviously changed, and for last year's World Series...
