LOS ANGELES The Los Angeles Dodgers placed infielder Mark Ellis on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right quad and reinstated left-handed pitcher Chris Capuano from the disabled list.
Capuano has been on the DL since April 17 with a left calf strain and made a rehab start on Wednesday for Triple-A Albuquerque against Memphis, allowing two runs on seven hits with three strikeouts in 5.1 innings.
Prior to his injury, Capuano made three appearances (one start), going 0-1 with a 9.64 ERA.
Ellis had hit safely in his last six games prior to his injury and is batting .342 with two home runs and 11 RBI in 20 games this season, including a .545 (6-for-11) mark with runners in scoring position.

The Dodgers on Tuesday promoted right-handed pitcher Ross Stripling to Double-A Chattanooga from High-A Rancho Cucamonga. The 2012 fifth-round draft pick has been on a nearly meteoric rise since the Dodgers popped him last season.
Stripling, 23, posted some impressive numbers in the California League early this season. He struck out 34 batters in 33 2/3 innings, walked 11 batters...
I completed my sixth trade with Cam of Cardboard Heaven fame. You can check out the first here, second here, third here, fourth here, and fifth here. Cam was in possession of a Matt Kemp card I wanted to get my hands on, and as time went along we expanded the deal into another epic trade.Let's start with something my collection was lacking: a Zack Greinke autograph. It hails...
The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed short stop Hanley Ramirez on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain that was suffered just a few games into his return to game action. Having hit close to a .500 clip since his return, this is yet another prominent injury setback for the unfortunate Dodgers this season. Los Angeles has called up short stop Dee Gordon to take his...
From a fantasy perspective I--like many guys out there--have always been a fan of Matt Kemp (sorry man, I'm an Astros and Rangers fan). However, after watching this clip of what he did during last weekend's Dodgers/Giants series Matt Kemp will forever be one of my favorite players.
In case you didn't feel like watching the video, it appears as if someone has told...
Kiley brings us video from this past week of Dodgers bat-flipping outfield prospect Yasiel Puig. The toolsy, 22-year-old Cuban defector signed a seven-year, $42 million contract in June of last year and nearly broke camp with the big club this year after a loud spring training performance.
One lucky Dodgers fan had a night he will never forget on Monday.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have activated left handed pitcher Clayton Kershaw from the bereavement list. To make room for him, the Dodgers consequently placed left handed pitcher Ted Lilly on the 15-day disabled liste with a right rib cage injury.

Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Matt Kemp makes $10 million a year, but the autographed ball, jersey and shoes he gave a disabled fan are priceless.
Tweet Stories like this are what make sports blogging rewarding. There aren’t many details around the web on this, but apparently a young Dodgers fan that was attending a Dodgers-Giants game in San Francisco is having some type of struggles in his life, and once hearing about it Matt Kemp decided to make the fan’s [...]

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Tony Gwynn Jr. lets his glove do the talking while inconspicuously dealing with a loud mouth heckler at Coors Field. The video is from a game in 2011 but has recently gone viral.

With Hanley Ramirez back on the disabled list, Dee Gordon could not come back soon enough. He made his return during the Los Angles Dodgers' series against the San Francisco Giants. Unfortunately, Gordon didn't make much difference as the Dodgers were swept. However, going forward, Gordon will help improve an injury-depleted infield.
Gordon played his first two...
As a soccer referee, I have heard it a thousand times.
Dodgers manager Don Mattingly is taking heat for saying the Dodgers are good in spite of dropping into last place.
After a close loss, the coach can generally be heard praising how well the team played; how tough they were. Okay, maybe that b.s. helps the morale of a bunch of 12-year olds whose only concern is what the post...
Heading into Sunday’s series finale, the Giants have won 1,194 of the 2,361 games in the all-time series. The Dodgers have taken 1,167. In their 123 years of intra-league competition, the Giants have finished with a better record at seasons-end 64 times. The Dodgers, 59 times. The Giants own 22 National League pennants. The Dodgers have 21.

Paul Goldschmidt hit a tiebreaking, two-run homer in the ninth inning off closer Brandon League and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Dodgers 5-3 on Tuesday night, sending last-place Los Angeles to its sixth straight loss.
League (0-2) walked Gerardo Parra to open the ninth and struck out Didi Gregorius. Goldschmidt fouled off five full-count pitches before driving his seventh home...
