TEAMS: Texas Rangers

You're probably like me, eager to cram as much meat down your throat as possible; when it comes to meat there's nothing wrong with being a size queen. As I understand it, Texas only has two things and, of course, everything is BIGGER in Texas, so the Rangers' newest ballpark creation shouldn't surprise us.

The Champion Dog will debut on April 6 at the Rangers' home opener, weighing in at a full pound of pig anuses (and that's just the meat), the two-foot-long hot dog also features shredded cheese, sauteed onions, jalapenos, and chili piled high. If you're still somehow hungry after slamming it down your throat, the side order of fries it comes with should help. Available throughout the stadium, if you order it at the in-stadium sports bar it will arrive on a special two-foot cutting board. Supposed to feed four people, the dog runs a fairly priced $26 (if that were served at Yankee Stadium it'd cost about $65 or so...)

"We wanted something that somebody would walk up to and go, 'Wow,'" said Philip Wheatley, the park's food and beverage director. "We obviously do hot dogs well. We worked with a local purveyor of ours to come up with something that big. We just thought a one-pound hot dog would be a fun thing to do, more so for the look. Hopefully people will enjoy it."

As delicious as this looks, I do have a minor issue with the name; the Texas Rangers are the American League champions (two years in a row) but they have never won the actual World Series...
