Mets News and Notes:
Mike Baxter's rehab tour, now in Day 9, is moving to Triple-A Buffalo. That suggests Baxter may be ready to be activated from the disabled list this weekend, when the Mets visit Arizona.

Mets Minors: Perhaps Steven Matz is still a top prospect
The Mets selected Matz, a lefty fireballer in the second round of the 2009 draft. Because of questionable free agent practices, the Mets were without a first round or compensation round pick and Matz was left to be the team’s top pick for the year. Matz was a risky pick, as people questioned his mechanics and thought he was sure to be an injury risk but the Mets, hoping to...

You snooze, you lose. Sandman fell asleep at the...

The future arrived at Citi Field on Monday, eager to begin his New York Mets career. But before losing an 8-2, 10-inning game to the Nationals at Citi Field, the Mets spent most of their breath cautioning fans not to expect too much out of top prospect Matt Harvey right away. "We've tried to make an effort to temper expectations, in part because we can't, nor...
