In this series I’m going to profile a few prospects in the Dodgers minor league clubs who I feel will contribute to the team one day in the future.
#1 – Trayvon Robinson – .336, 7 HR’s, 22 RBI’s, 2 SB .397 OBP, .609 SLG, 1.006 OPS
Before being called up this would’ve been Jerry Sands but Trayvon has carved his own place.
Before this season he hadn’t really shown much power topping out at 17 HR’s and shown a lot of speed with 47, 43 and 35 stolen baes the previous three seasons but only 2 this year.
He’s a good hitter batting .300 the previous two seasons and a .373 and .400 on base percentage but his only issue is strike outs. He has struck out 33 times in only 29 games this year, 125 in 120 in 2010 and 143 in 136 games in 2009 but if he can continue hitting .300 at the big league level, the strike outs won’t matter.
#2 – Dee Gordon – .301 avg, 0 HR’s, 10 RBI’s, 14 SB, .352 OBP, .354 SLG, .706 OPS
