New York Yankees 2 — Baltimore Orioles 5

The offensive struggles lead to CC’s first loss of the season in tonight’s 5-2 loss to the Baltimore Orioles.

Taiwanese rookie left-hander, Wei-Yin Chen limited the Yankees offense to just 2 runs on 4 hits. The runs came on Curtis Granderson’s 13th home run of the season to left field. Rallies were killed on three occasions with double plays. The Yankees struggles with runners in scoring position was evident again as they went 1 for 9.

CC Sabathia was not as effective as he usually is. In tonight’s game, Sabathia did not go 8 innings and needed 103 pitches to get through just 6. J.J. Hardy continues to be a problem for the Yankees as he accounted for 2 runs. Sabathia also gave up a season-high 8 hits.

Yankees place RHP Robertson on DL

The New York Yankees have placed reliever David Roberston on the 15-day disabled list with a strained muscle in his left ribcage. Tuesday's move puts additional burden on a bullpen already without closer Mariano Rivera. Robertson finished five games this season and was 0-1 with a 2.51 ERA and one save. With Rivera likely out for the season with a torn knee ligament, Robertson...

Pettitte’s Return A Mixed Bag For Yankees

After a year away from the game and a handful of minor league tune-up starts, Andy Pettitte officially returned to the Yankees on Sunday. His pitching line was nothing to write home about — 6.1 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 2 K — and he ultimately took the loss against the light-hitting Mariners. All four runs came on a pair of two-run homers, including a line drive shot by Justin...

So I Guess I Own 1/7th of a Part of a Russell Martin Dodgers Jersey....

Continuing on with the 2012 Card Draft # 1 funded pickups, I snagged yet another 2009 UD A Piece Of History hit of Russel Martin. This is without a doubt my favorite of the bunch, and it's just remarkably sick.Numbered 02/35, this ridiculously awesome patch comes from the "o" on the front of a road Dodgers uniform, if my sleuthing is not incorrect. Part of me is curious...
