Carlos Zambrano vs. Bobby Parnell
Story-LinesIt's an epic collision of suck! The Cubs and Mets are both teams that had been expected to compete way back in the spring, only to suffer crippling injuries and personnel problems resulting in a Season of Meh.
So what will happen in this, the high-tension battle of teams that can barely make the effort to don their uniforms before each game? Who will win -- the angry, unfocused Cubs or the dysfunctional, injury-riddled Mets? It's not a case of which team is better ... it's a case of WHICH TEAM IS WORSE!Who's HotOn this team? After getting shut out by the White Sox? Probably Cub fans everywhere, angry at the team's poor play. But otherwise, not much of anybody.Who's NotLou Piniella. If anybody should be "hot," it should be him at his players. Instead he appea...

Keep Be-Lee-ving
One of the holes the Mets need to fill for the 2010 season is first base, Daniel Murphy was named the everyday first baseman after Carlos Delgado got injuried. Murphy has done fairly well as a replacement with good defense and an average bat.
First base is usually a position for power hitters and Murphy will not [...]

Brian Schneider: End of the Road for His New York Mets Career?
Brian Schneider's tenure with the Mets the last two seasons has no doubt been a roller coaster, physically and emotionally.
Schneider and Ryan Church were brought to the Mets by the Washington Nationals in the winter of 2008 in exchange for Lastings Milledge, who just did not fit into the Mets plans or the clubhouse.
Milledge did not seem to want to abide by the hierarchy of...
Wright Time To Come Back For New York Met Fans
On Tuesday David Wright made his glorious return to the New York Mets lineup after taking a 94 mph fast ball to the head about 3 weeks ago.
Based on the poor season the Mets are having this year it would of been easy for Wright to shut it down for the final month of the season. The Mets are currently 60—74 and 18.5 games out of 1st in the NL East and have been crippled...
Don’t Get Too Excited About the Pitching
I know, I know. There’s very little to get excited about, Mets fans.
As such, the temptation is to look for the promise of things to come in the recent outings of Pat Misch and Tim Redding.
Resist the temptation.
Tim Redding, through the narrow prism of the second half, 2009, looks like a pretty respectable pitcher. After [...]
Some love for Pat Misch
#48 LHP Pat Misch, congratulations on the first career victory in the major leagues. It's a testament to his talent that Misch has lasted this long without earning a win. Misch had tied a major league record by going 0-12 in starts, overall; he's made 55 appearances since 2006 without recording a single win. If he didn't have at least decent stuff he would be long gone...
