Adrian Gonzalez homered and Zack Greinke was his usual stingy self for the still-surging Dodgers on Saturday afternoon. Their formula isn't the same but the result always seems to be victory for the first-place National League West Dodgers. At least since June. Gonzalez hit a two-run homer in the first inning against Tampa Rays pitcher Roberto Hernandez and that was all the cushion Greinke would need as the Dodgers dominated the Rays in a 5-0 win at Dodger Stadium. One day earlier the Dodgers won via a crazy 7-6 comeback win that ended with the Dodgers dancing around home plate late in the evening. There was no hangover. The Dodgers have won four consecutive games and are 36-8 in their last 44 games. It's quite a streak. "I don't think much about that" Yasiel Puig said through an interpreter. "I think about the games we need to win in the future." The future is bright. Puig Hanley Ramirez and Matt Kemp's injuries have dominated the Dodgers...

Dodgers: Hanley Ramirez returning, Brian Wilson perfect again

The Los Angeles Dodgers are starting to pull away in the NL West and now the team is getting healthy for the stretch run. On Sunday Brian Wilson threw a perfect inning at Triple-A Albuquerque. It marked the third appearance of the bearded reliever in the minors and he has yet to allow a hit or a walk. Any concerns the Dodgers have about Wilson are being put to rest and he could join...

Brian Wilson has another smooth outing in minors

Right-hander Brian Wilson had another smooth outing Friday night, retiring all three batters he faced in relief for the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate at Albuquerque. Wilson needed just seven pitches after throwing eight pitches Wednesday night for Class A Rancho Cucamonga. He got two ground outs and one fly-ball out. The Dodgers want to see how the right-hander, who is coming...

Kemp reflects on passing of terminally ill fan, friend

LOS ANGELES Matt Kemp didn't have a chance to say goodbye to Joshua Jones, the terminally ill Dodgers fan he met in May while the team was in San Francisco. But it was clear Friday that the 19-year-old left an impression. "I'm just glad I got a chance to meet him and do what I did for him and make his dreams come true," Kemp said of Jones, who died Tuesday night...

Los Angeles Dodgers Now Favorite To Land Robinson Cano?

NorthJersey.com columnist Bob Klapisch reported yesterday that there is a drumbeat  coming out of New Jersey that the favorite to land New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano this offseason may now be the Los Angeles Dodgers. If all goes well this week he could join the Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen this weekend where he’ll be the setup man for closer, Kenley Jansen. Wilson is scheduled to make another appearance...

Dodgers Fall To Hidden Ball Trick

((HT: MLB on FOX)) It's almost as effective as the fake throw to third then fake throw to first that pitchers do all the time... No one falls to the hidden ball trick... But this time, it was a very subtle throw to the Rays Evan Longoria that put Juan Uribe in the dugout instead of on third so the Dodgers can extend their lead... Here's the play, the subtlety...

Rays pull off hidden ball trick against Dodgers

The Tampa Bay Rays have pulled off the old hidden ball trick, trapping Juan Uribe of the Dodgers at third base. The rarely seen play occurred in the fourth inning Saturday with Los Angeles leading 4-0. A.J. Ellis hit a bases-loaded sacrifice fly, and all three runners moved up as center fielder Wil Myers threw toward the plate. First baseman James Loney wound up with the ball...

Ken Rosenthal talks with Clayton Kershaw about the recent success and positive energy surrounding the Dodgers. The Dodgers have been a sizzling 37-8 in their last 45 and Kershaw is turning in another elite season (11-7, 1.88 ERA, 174 K's). The Dodgers still have a ways to go, and they can only hope the next two months go as well as the last two.
