The Phillies rounded up seven more nonroster invitees today, as you probably have already read on all the other Phillies blogs. Four of them (Tuffy Gosewisch, Joel Naughton, Michael Schwimer, Michael Stutes) were already nestled under the blanket of our minor league system. While I have an initial distrust of anyone who abuses the usage of letters, I think we can let that extra “b” slide because of all the work Robb does saying children’s books are great. Robb comes to us from the magic of L.A. and their Angels, who seem to be in desperate need of Danny Glover’s pep talk from Angels in the Outfield.
His career OPS is .734, with the weakest contributions coming in the last three years, and he is most comfortable when crammed in a corner, whether its in the infield or outfield.
Brian Bass, RHP
Brian Bass you could mistake for many people: Brian Bass the photographer of playing cards and bottles. Dr. Brian Bass the Raleigh-based gynecologist. Brian Bass the DJ and member of “Disfunktion Crew.”
But who you may most confuse Brian Bass with is a starting pitcher. Considering we’ve just got the one spot open on the rotation, and Brian almost made somebody at Weaver’s Tantrum drown himself in a toilet, maybe let’s just imagine him taking a bullpen role at best, but probably sticking to the minors.
Delwyn Young
First of all, Delwyn Young once lied about liking board games, so he’s already sort of a shady character. But added to that, we have the sentiments of opposing blogs to reference:
