The Mets have announced that top prospect Matt Harvey will be promoted from Triple-A Buffalo and join the team on Monday.
Harvey will start for the Mets on Thursday evening in Arizona against the D-Backs.
The team was without a fifth starter after designating Miguel Batista for assignment this morning.
Harvey has a 3.68 ERA in 20 starts with Buffalo and is coming off his worst start of the season in which he gave up six runs on Saturday night.
Apparently the Mets have done a complete 180 in the last 24 hours and now feel he is their best option.
