As soon as the free agency period started, the Miami Marlins were all over former Mets' shortstop Jose Reyes. They want Reyes to be the cornerstone as they enter a new ballpark and to sell those hideous new uniforms.

The more time I've had to digest this off-season the more it makes sense to trade David Wright. It seems like the writing is on the wall in the case of Jose Reyes and I just don't see him returning next year. Without Reyes, this team is essentially in a rebuilding process ( whether they will call it that or not) so what's the point of keeping Wright, nobody is going...

A lot of people would be surprised by this but it appears that the New York Mets will actually tender a contract to outfielder Angel Pagan. The outfielder had a down year but there’s still reason for hope as he had very successful 2009 and 2010 seasons. Although you have to wonder if the risk / reward is worth it for a team with money problems.

Ever since Shea Stadium closed its doors for the final time in 2008, David Wright has not been the same player. At least that’s what I hear from many Mets fans. Former Mets pitcher John Maine wants to pitch in 2012, his agent Rex Gary said, according to the Daily News. Gary said Maine is healthy and eager to sign with a team.
