Okay so who else is tired of every sports columnist, analyst and beat writer, trashing the Mets' offer of $36 million dollars to Derek Lowe?
If the offer was so outrageous and so demeaning, why hasn't anybody topped the Mets offer since it was made five days ago?
Could it be that Omar played his hand so well that all the so-called experts are befuddled especially after how poorly they forecasted the closers market... a market that was also expertly handled by our GM, Omar Minaya?
Whenever Omar makes a bad move like signing Castillo, they hold it over his head for all eternity. However, when he brilliantly addresses his team's biggest need by walking away with K-Rod and Putz, the sports media chooses to credit the poor economy rather than the man who engineered both moves.
These are the same people who said the Mets didn't have enough talent to get Johan Santana last off season.
Maybe it's SI.com, Fox Sports, and ESPN who are wrong...
