The Mets lost a series against the last place Nationals. That marked the lowest moment of this season for the New York Mets. I, along with many other Mets' fans, lost all hope right then and there. We all sat back and started thinking about 2010. That's when the Amazins' surprised me. After losing the first game of a three-game series at Houston, the Mets won the next two games. Jon Niese and Livan Hernandez pitched solid games and picked up the victory. David Wright, Omar Santos and Jeff Francoeur hit homers during the first game and in the second game Wright and Francoeur both drove in two runs. Other stand outs during these two games were Daniel Murphy (3-for-10 with a RBI and two doubles) and Luis Castillo (4-for-8 with three RBI and a double).
