Found January 03, 2013 on Nationals Enquirer:
No news on the Adam LaRoche front. But remember last Christmas, when Bryce Harper got a puppy and named him Swag? Of course you do. Well, in case you were wondering how the pup was doing, Harper Tweeted the photo above  Thursday night ("Me and the buddy hangin out! Best dog around! #swag"). Indeed, it seems Swag is all grown up now. Befriend Nats Enquirer on Facebook. Follow on Twitter.

...also, Gio just signed a deal with Wilson gloves. Photo above of Gio signing the contract in his kitchen (with aforementioned Curly W on the fridge in the background -- we're assuming that's Gio's fridge), and below posing with his agent and new red Wilson glove and a rep from Wilson, via @GioGonzalez47 himself. Teen David Denson hits 515-foot home run at Marlins Park (Video)

High school senior David Denson might not be one of the top prospects in the country, but it’s hard to imagine a teenager having more power than him. Denson, who turns 18 on January 17, hit a 515-foot home run at Marlins Park during the 2012 Power Showcase. DPL Baseball says Denson hit 19 home runs in the showcase, including three off the scoreboard. The showcase’s website says...

Player Profile #183: Drew Storen | RP | WAS

Drew Storen‘s 2012 season was another lesson in Why Not to Pay for Saves: 101. On March 28, after almost all fantasy drafts had taken place, it was reported that Storen was feeling a little elbow soreness. He would miss the start of the season, but he was expected to resume closing duties sometime in mid-April. Then on April 3, Storen was place on the 15-day DL only to undergo...

A Glimpse of Recent Baseball’s Most Unhittable Pitcher

Brad Lidge is 36 years old. In December, when he was still 35, he announced his retirement from professional baseball. He hadn’t been much of a factor since 2010, so in that sense it felt inevitable that Lidge would hang them up. In discussing Lidge’s career, Mike Axisa wrote up the memorable moment that was Albert Pujols taking Lidge deep. Below, in the comments section of that...

Washington Nationals sign former first-round pick Tyler Herron

It’s never too late to spread the good news. The Washington Nationals are ripe with talent; Stephen Strasburg and Bryce Harper to name a few. But prospects are never relegated to the normal talent pool. The Independent Leagues are becoming more and popular and a legitimate source for up-and-comer’s, as well as a way for players who have been released or undrafted to get the...

ZiPS looks at the 2013 Washington Nationals Projections It’s never too early to start looking at ZiPS projections, and somehow during those two dead weeks of the holidays we forgot to throw this up on the site. The one thing I don’t like about ZiPS is it isn’t quite as optimistic as good ol’ Bill James, but it often offers a more realistic snapshot of what you’re likely...

Teen Blasts a 515-Foot Home Run at Power Showcase

South Hills (Calif.) senior and Hawaii commit David Denson won the Power Showcase in Miami last month by blasting 19 home runs, including one that was even more ridiculous than the scoreboard at Marlins Park. Yes, Denson was using an aluminum bat, but the 6-foot-4, 252-pound first baseman launched his longest homer 515 feet and knocked three more off the scoreboard. If you remember...
