Prior to Saturday's FanFest the truck holding all the equipment for the team was making its way to Peoria. The team was taking pictures this morning at Petco and will then start making their way out as well. Just under 6 days to go before pitchers and catchers report. It's Valentine's Day. And that's all I have to say about that. I won't go into my opinions on this day. But I thought I should at least semi acknowledge it. The Padres made a signing yesterday! Mark Grant has a new contract to keep broadcasting games. Interesting that we have all these guys lined up to call games and yet still no official confirmation on a TV contract...
Casey McElroy, 21, was drafted in the eleventh round of the 2011 draft by the San Diego Padres out of Auburn University. The Orlando native had a strong junior year hitting .372/.429/.564 earning first team all-SEC honors and finishing in the top ten in eight league offensive categories.
