The answer, unfortunately, is no. However, there are only 2 guys I can think of that I would rather have on my team today at that premiere position. One is Miguel Cabrera, man whose atrocious defense is overshadowed by his unbeliveable hitting prowess (he’s got a decently realistic shot at the AL triple crown right now, really, take a look.). The other is David Wright, one of the best all around players in baseball who has single handedly carried the Mets for most of the season. Though an argument can be made for Adrian Beltre as another guy at the top of his game, I think Headley has certainly entered the conversation as a premiere 3rd basemen in the league right now.
Headley is batting .284 with 27 home runs (!) and a league leading 102 RBIs. That is particuallry remarkable considering the Padres currently rank 26th out of the 30 teams in runs scored. Headley has driven in almost 1/5 of the teams runs this season. That fact alone should garner him some MVP consideration.

Headley's hot streak no mirage for Padres
(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated. With AP Photos.) By BERNIE WILSON AP Sports Writer At first, Chase Headley's power surge seemed like a mirage.

We knew it was only a matter of time before Chase Headley was going to hit and surpass the 100 RBI mark for the season. Well yesterday he certainly did just that in “grand” fashion. The first article below will explain everything, but the Reader’s Digest version is that Chase hit a grand slam to push his home run total to 27 and his RBI total to 102. This now passes Ryan Braun...
Padres' Huston Street Set for Simulated Game
Huston Street was the best closer in baseball until his injury. However, he's now been out since August 10th. On the final out against the Pirates on that day, Street strained his calf covering first. He has not tested the calf by running, but Corey Brock of MLB.com reports Street will throw a simulated game on Monday.
Sounds like #Padres closer Huston Street will throw...

I was hoping that the Padres would be able to pull off the sweep. However, if they were to lose one game this series it would have been this one. Let's face it, ever since Casey Kelly's debut he's been awful. Also we had to face Wade Miley who has been doing awesome for the Diamondbacks in his rookie season. If I had to vote for rookie of the year right now I would probably...

Daily Farm Round-Up: 9-10-12
The TinCaps advance in the playoffs off the strength of 15 hits and 3 home runs. Yet again, the bullpen played a crucial role in tonight’s game as the starter, James Needy, didn’t make it through 3 innings. Besides a rocky outing for Dennis O’Grady, the TinCaps pen shut the Captains down, and only allowed 4 hits and struck out 4 over 4 innings. Hitting Prospect of the Day:...
Daily Friar 9.12.12
The past couple of games Chase Headley has been fairly quiet at the plate. He has been getting on base in some capacity, but he is leaving it up to the other guys on the team to do the damage and drive the runs in. That is exactly what Logan Forsythe has been doing for this team in the past couple games. He is getting men on base and driving them in to get the Padres the win any...

You know the offense is having a good night when two guys on the team are one hit away from the cycle. Funny thing is each was holding the hit that the other needed. Cameron Maybin had the home run, double and single; Logan Forsythe had the triple, double, single. On top of all their offense, Chris Denorfia added 4 hits to the mix of his own. All this came against a team who is making...
