Hitting guru Rudy Jaramillo has rejected a one year deal from the Texas Rangers and is now a free agent coach.Jaramillo is believed to have been the runner-up for the Mets managing job in 2004 and it's been speculated that the only reason he was passed by was because the Wilpon's/Omar wanted to go with a NY guy ( Willie Randolph).It was also rumored that the last time his contract was up the Mets considered bringing him in as a coach but they eventually decided against it because they didn't want Manuel looking over his shoulder.However, this off-season the team has already said they will consider bringing in high profile coaches and are beyond concerns about any ones feelings.
