Toronto Blue Jays: Justin Upton mentioned in trade talks

Before I get to Friday’s game, I got a trade rumor involving the Toronto Blue Jays. I was listening to a Toronto radio station on Wednesday night and the announcer mentioned that Justin Upton from the Arizona Diamondbacks was on the Jays radar screen.  Now I don’t know how Upton would fit into the Blue Jays lineup.  They already have three pretty good outfielders and they...

Fan at Blue Jays game catches foul ball with his legs (Video)

A fan at Friday night's Toronto Blue Jays game against the Cleveland Indians caught a foul ball with his legs as he was heading to his seat with refreshments. It happened in the top of the first inning as Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis hit a foul ball into the left field stands. The ball bounced in the aisle towards a fan who had his hands full of refreshments. The...

Toronto Blue Jays fan stops foul ball with legs (Video)

Over the years, I've seen some pretty incredible foul ball plays at MLB games but this Toronto Blue Jays fan ranks up their as one of the greatest. It happened last night when Cleveland's Jason Kipnis fouled off a pitch down the left field line at the Rogers Centre. Keep an eye on the fan with the refreshments as he makes the play with his legs to corral the foul...

Blue Jays 3, Indians 0

Carlos Villanueva struck out a career-best eight in six scoreless innings, Jose Bautista had two hits and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Cleveland Indians 3-0 Sunday afternoon. Making his third start of the season after working in relief for much of the year, Villanueva allowed just three hits and walked five as the Blue Jays won their first series since taking two of three at Miami...

Indians, Jays battle for series victory today

After a rough first game following the All-Star break, the Toronto Blue Jays showed they still have a lot of pop in their lineup. Right-hander Carlos Villanueva is trying to show he belongs in the rotation. Villanueva makes his third start of the season Sunday when Toronto concludes its season series with the Cleveland Indians. Held to five singles by Justin Masterson while getting...

Celebrating Edwin Encarnacion

Last night on Twitter, the statement was made that Edwin Encarnacion has been as productive as David Ortiz for a third of the price tag. The statement was immediately challenged. "Are you sure about that?" The answer is yes. As the saying goes, "Look it up." Encarnacion currently has 3.0 fWAR and David Ortiz has 2.9. The WAR figures are remarkably similar on Baseball...

Box Score: Blue Jays 3, Indians 0

The Indians faltered again today in a rubber match against the Blue Jays. Toronto scored three times against Derek Lowe in the third, and that was all the offense for the day. The bats were miserable again today, with the team mustering just five hits and five walks total. Yet again, there were several wasted opportunities and some truly awful at-bats by the bottom of the lineup...

7/15 Game Recap: Indians 0 - Blue Jays 3

Player of the Game Derek Lowe had a quality start today, winning him his 4th Player of the Game of the season. His score of 1.51 included 6 innings pitched, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits and striking out 5. Feathers Up Carlos Santana proved that he can beat a shift when he bunted down the 3rd baseline for an easy single in the 4th inning. Joe Smith pitched a rare 2-inning appearance...
