Philly Buster:
A 2011 blue Porsche Panamera belonging to Phillies’ left-handed relief pitcher J.C. Romero was stolen last night, reported the WTSP News in Florida.
Romero’s car was getting serviced on 34th Street North in St. Petersburg. The car was valued at $190,000.
Romero had driven from his home in Alabama to the Phillies’ spring training facility in Clearwater, Florida.
Romero is set to begin his fifth year with the Phillies, after signing a one-year contract in the offseason that will pay him $1.35 million for 2011. He had earned over $3 million in each of the previous three seasons after signing a three-year, $11.75 million contract before the ’08 season.
A picture of Romero’s car can be found on the blog, Hot Cars TV, in which a special section was dedicated to the Porsche earlier this year.
