As it turns out, there is only one Jose Reyes, who signed a $22 per year, six year deal with the Florida Marlins. Reyes, 28, also won the batting title, hitting .337 in his last year with the Mets. Rafael Furcal, 34, signed for $6.5 per year for two years with the Cardinals. Alex Gonzalez, 34, signed for $4 million per year with the Brewers. Which didn’t leave as big of a market for Jimmy Rollins. Jimmy Rollins has not played 162 games in a season since his 2007 MVP season. Still the three-year deal will probably make him a Phillie for his career. Fortunately, Rollins, 33, a .272 lifetime hitter, wanted to play for the Phillies. So the club house leader signed for $33 million for three years with a vested option for a fourth year. An average of $11 per year. Lower than Reyes, but better than Furcal or Gonzalez.
