The Mets recently extended Spring Training invitations to seven non-roster players including their top prospect Fernando Martinez, first baseman Michel Abreu, right-handed pitchers Tobi Stoner and Dillon Gee, left-handed pitcher Michael Antonini, catcher Josh Thole and shortstop Jose Coronado. While I'm excited that we will get a chance to see Fernando Martinez again, two other prospects that I'm also looking forward to seeing are starting pitcher Dillon Gee and catcher Josh Thole, both of whom had solid seasons in the minor leagues last year. Dillon Gee didn't make baseball America's top ten list for the Mets, but I bet he didn't miss by much. He was drafted in 2007 and has quickly moved up the Mets system. Baseball America recently said that Gee has the best control and the best changeup in the organization. Last season, Gee started out at Port St. Lucie where he posted a 3.27 ERA in 127 innings.
