MILWAUKEE -- Dodgers third baseman Juan Uribe has a sore left wrist and will miss Thursday's series finale against the Brewers at Miller Park. The injury was disclosed before the game by Dodgers Manager Don Mattingly, who said he first heard about it during the Dodgers' 3-2 loss to Milwaukee on Wednesday night. "They came to me like in the seventh inning and said Uribe can't swing -- he can play defense, though," Mattingly said, adding that Uribe said he might have injured the wrist sliding. "I was kind of caught by surprise." Jerry Hairston Jr. replaced Uribe at third base for Thursday's game, after which the Dodgers were to fly to Houston for a series with the Astros. Uribe, 33, was batting .235 through 10 games with one run batted in. Mattingly said Uribe likely would have the wrist examined by a doctor after the team arrived in Houston. Uribe missed 75 games last season due to muscle strains in his left hip and season-ending hernia surgery Sept. 7.

Matt Kemp, president of the Andre Ethier Fan Club

Andre Ethier's biggest fan is not his wife, his children or the rest of his family. It's Matt Kemp.OK, probably not, but one could make the case with the way Kemp goes nuts every time Ethier does something well.Check out this video of Ethier's go-ahead home run from Tuesday night's game. And this video from Saturday's game. And this video from Friday's ...

Will The Real James Loney Please Stand Up?

I've been saying it for years now, sigh...wow this has really gone on forever hasn't it? First the good. The Dodgers are officially 9-2 after Javy Guerra's blown save tonight against the Milwaukee Brewers. Unbelievable wasn't it? I'm still fuming. With that should have been win tonight, it would have been the best start for the Dodgers since they moved to...

Matt Kemp Continues to Outpace Other Teams

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp launched his 7th homerun of the season in only his 13th game earlier today. That give him as many, or more homeruns than the Astros, Nationals, Cubs, Phillies, and Pirates. If one of those teams is "your team", then you should be very ashamed. I, for one, am ashamed, as I pledge my allegiance to Philadelphia.Kemp has scored 15...

Dodgers beat Astros; Kemp hits 8th HR

Matt Kemp homered again, one of his three hits, and drove in two runs to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 3-1 win over the Houston Astros on Friday night. Kemp's eighth home run of the season was a two-run shot off J.A. Happ that put Los Angeles up 2-0 in the first inning and gave him 20 RBIs this season. It also tied Kemp with Wally Moon for the Dodgers record for most home...

Dodgers' Mattingly wants more replay reviews

The morning after his Los Angeles Dodgers lost a game on a disputed play at the plate, manager Don Mattingly made a case for the expanded use of instant replay reviews in baseball. Mattingly says he would like to see plays at the plate become subject to review, and suggested that it was worth considering the use of instant replay to review any game-ending play. Currently, home runs...

Can Matt Kemp go 50/50?

After last year's campaign that saw Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers finish just one homer shy of a 40/40 season, Kemp has gotten off to a flying start this year with six homers in his first 11 games. This, of course, is leading to various reporters from major outlets pondering the possibility of Kemp having a 50/50 year. To those reporters, I say...are you kidding me? Matt...

Angel Guzman suspended 50 games

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Angel Guzman was suspended for 50 games by Major League Baseball on Friday for a second violation under the minor league drug program for a drug of abuse. The 30-year-old right-hander was 3-10 with a 4.82 ERA for the Chicago Cubs from 2006-09, then missed 2010 with a torn shoulder ligament. He spent 2011 at Class A in the Cubs' minor league system...

GIFcap: Jerry Hairston Jr. Rescues Jamey Wright, Matt Treanor, Javy Guerra

With the Dodgers up on the Brewers four runs to three in the bottom of the eighth inning and two outs, Carlos Gomez pinch ran for George Kottaras, who Jamey Wright walked, and promptly stole second base. He advanced to third on a throwing error by Matt Treanor, which set up Jerry Hairston Jr. perfectly

Blown call costs Dodgers

The Dodgers fell to the Brewers 3-2 in 10 innings on Wednesday at Miller Park in Milwaukee, and the way the game ended may have added another member to the pro instant replay crowd. Milwaukee had the bases loaded with one out against Matt Guerrier in the bottom of the 10th inning when Ryan Braun lofted a fly ball to shallow center field. Matt Kemp caught the ball, then threw home...

Matt Kemp, Hanley Ramirez among those who could go 40/40 in 2012

For those don't know, a 40/40 season would consist of a player that hits 40 home runs, while also stealing 40 bases. While Los Angeles Dodgers OF Matt Kemp has spoke of creating the 50/50 club after just missing the 40/40 club last season, the odds of a player reaching that lofty goal seem minimal. That being said, here are my leading candidates to join the 40/40 club this season...
