I know many folks are not even thinking about baseball with the NFL getting ready for the playoffs, college football bowl games, and the NBA is in full swing. Still there have been some players that are going to be donning a new uniform next year. Here are few of these transactions that have taken place. Michael Young: The Texas Ranger is now going to be playing for the Phillies. Young played with 13 seasons with the Rangers, but agreed to waive his no trade clause in his contract so a deal could be done. The Phillies send reliever Josh Lindblom and minor-league  Lisalverto Bonilla to the Rangers.Young will be playing third base in Philly. Dan Haren: Dan will be playing in our nation’s capital for the Nationals. Haren signed just a one year contract for around $13 million. Last year Haren had an ERA of 4.33. Dan will be joining a strong rotation with Stephen Strasburg and Gio Gonzalez for the Nationals. Mike Napoli: The Red Sox  this past week and come to terms with Napoli for a three-year, $39 million contract. The former Ranger catcher/first baseman. Even though Mike can play both positions well, it seems the Sox are looking for him to play first base predominately. Shane Victorino: A day after the Red Sox signed Napoli, they went back to their checkbook to get Shane for a three year $39 million contract. The Flyin’ Hawaiian will be bringing a great teammate mentality to Boston who could use a boost especially after last season.   Zack Greinke: It looks like Zack will becoming a Dodger. In the past two years Zack was 31-11 playing for  Milwaukee Brewers and Angels. The Dodgers gave Zack a contract for $147 million over six years. All Greinke needs to do is passhis physical. So there you have a quick look at the most recent big name transactions of the MLB off-season.
